Sandals Royal Curaçao: An Honest Review

We recently spent a week at Sandals Royal Curaçao, and spoiler alert — we loved it! Whether you’re planning a honeymoon, anniversary trip, or just looking for a fun, all-inclusive getaway, here’s what you need to know.
First Impressions
Getting to the resort was easy. Sandals provides a shared shuttle from the airport, and after a 45-minute drive, we were pulling up to paradise.
The property itself is big, but not overwhelming. It’s easy to get around, especially with the complimentary bikes they provide — we loved zipping around that way.
Our Room: Kurason Island Poolside Bungalow
We stayed in a Kurason Island Poolside Butler Bungalow with Tranquility Soaking Tub, and it was incredible. The room is spacious with vaulted ceilings, a king bed, modern bathroom, and huge sliding glass doors that open to the heart-shaped Kurason Island pool.
Bonus: Only a couple of these bungalows have private bathing decks right on the water — and ours was one of them!
Butler Service
Our butlers were amazing. They reserved loungers by the pool for us daily, stocked our cooler with Coronas (James’ request!), and delivered lunch — even for our friends.
On our anniversary, they completely surprised us with a private lobster and shrimp lunch set up by the water. Such a special touch!
Resort Vibe
If you like a resort with energy, you’ll love it here. This is a very social, fun, and lively property. The main pool had a DJ every afternoon, and one day it felt like a throwback party — early 2000s hits, great atmosphere, and everyone having a blast.
We saw a wide age range — honeymooners, groups of friends, and couples celebrating milestone birthdays.
Beach & Pool
The beach exceeded our expectations — calm, clear water, floating loungers, and always plenty of space. We never had an issue finding loungers by the pool or beach, even when we didn’t head out until lunchtime.
Excursions
We only left the resort once — to explore the island in our complimentary Mini Cooper included with our room. It was a fun, unique way to explore Curaçao at our own pace.
Final Thoughts: Who is this Resort For?
We’d absolutely go back. Sandals Royal Curaçao is ideal for:
