Beaches Turks & Caicos: A Multigenerational Family Escape
As travel professionals, we often look for destinations that can satisfy grandparents, parents, and children without requiring everyone to follow the same schedule.
Recently, Senior Travel Advisor Cameron Cooper experienced Beaches Turks & Caicos with her extended family of 12, ranging in age from 7 to 74.
Her firsthand experience reinforced why Beaches can be such a strong fit for multigenerational travel: there are countless ways to spend time together, but just as many opportunities for each generation to enjoy the vacation in their own way.
Easy Logistics from the Moment You Arrive
One of the advantages of Beaches Turks & Caicos is how little travel time is required once you land. Providenciales International Airport is conveniently close to the resort, making this an especially appealing option for families who don't want a long transfer after traveling with children or coordinating a large group.
For families who want to make the airport experience even easier, Fast Track is worth considering, particularly when traveling with young children or during peak arrival and departure times.
Accommodations Designed for Families
One of the standout features was the variety of room configurations available for families.
Cameron's family stayed in an Italian Village Concierge Family Suite with Kids Room, which provided a particularly functional setup for a family traveling with children. The separate kids' room featured:
Bunk beds and a trundle
TV and closet
Abundant storage
A dedicated sleeping space separate from the adults
The primary bedroom also included a sleeper chair that could accommodate a sixth guest, while the bathroom featured a large bathtub, dual sinks, and an additional sink near the children's sleeping area.
Having a dedicated space where children can sleep separately allows parents to have their own space while still keeping everyone together in one suite.
The family also successfully requested adjacent rooms, which worked particularly well for the cousins to easily spend time together while still giving each family their own space.
A Beach That Lives Up to Its Reputation - and Activities for Kids and Adults, Too
The calm, warm water and beautiful, swimmable stretch of Grace Bay Beach were among the highlights of the trip.
The resort offers multiple pools, each with a different atmosphere. The new Treasure Beach Pool was a favorite for its balance of activity and comfortable seating, while the quieter Key West Village pool appealed to the adults. The Italian Village pool was another favorite, with fun activities taking place throughout the day.
One of the biggest advantages of Beaches is that children don't need to rely on their parents for entertainment all day.
For the kids in Cameron's group, Pirates Island Waterpark was a major hit, with:
Multiple waterslides
FlowRider
Kids' swim-up bar with waterfall grotto
Bobby Dee's for ice cream and cotton candy
Meanwhile, adults could enjoy quieter pools, elegant dining, lounges, or time at the spa.
The resort also offers complimentary non-motorized watersports, including kayaks, Hobie Cats, and paddleboards.
And for guests who enjoy diving, scuba diving is included in the stay, and well worth it thanks to the warm, exceptionally clear water, nearby reefs, and variety of marine life.
Excursions That Make Getting Off Property Easy
The included resort activities are only part of the experience. One of Cameron's favorite aspects of the trip was how easy it was to add excursions without creating complicated transportation logistics.
The family's private catamaran charter was a standout experience. The customized excursion included snorkeling, Noah's Ark Sandbar, and Iguana Island, with the captain adapting the itinerary based on the group's preferences and swimming abilities. The motorized catamaran featured a top deck, comfortable seating, a waterslide, and a jumping platform, making it an activity that worked well across multiple generations.
The family also enjoyed parasailing, which accommodated multiple flyers at once and worked well for both adults and children.
One of the biggest conveniences? The excursions could pick the family up right from the beach at the resort, making it remarkably easy to add off-property adventures without spending time coordinating complicated transportation.
Dining: Variety for the Whole Family and Thoughtful Food Allergy Support
With multiple restaurants throughout the resort, families have plenty of choices.
Butch's was a favorite for both dinner and breakfast, with excellent food and service. Kimono's offered a fun, interactive atmosphere that was particularly memorable for the family, while Neptune's combined excellent food with a beautiful beachfront setting.
Pinta offered excellent variety and worked well for larger groups, while Mario's provided an excellent variety of Italian cuisine and particularly strong allergy accommodations.
For families traveling with food allergies, Beaches' allergy protocols were an important part of the experience. The resort's CulinaryConcierge process allows guests to communicate their dietary needs in advance and throughout the stay.
Family Memories Beyond the Water
The family also booked a complimentary professional photography session, which Cameron found efficient and easy, with shaded locations and digital photos that were simple to review.
The resort's app was another helpful tool, providing maps, restaurant hours, menus, and activity schedules. Families can “favorite” activities and receive reminders, making it easier to keep track of everything happening across the resort.
