Was a Crown Loft Suite on Symphony of the Seas Worth the Splurge? Absolutely.

When planning our cruise aboard Royal Caribbean's Symphony of the Seas, we debated whether upgrading to a suite was really worth the additional cost. After spending a week in a Crown Loft Suite, I can confidently say it transformed our vacation from a great cruise into an exceptional one.
The Crown Loft Suite is unlike a traditional cruise cabin. This two-story suite features soaring floor-to-ceiling windows, a spacious living area downstairs, and a private loft bedroom upstairs. The design creates an open, luxurious feel that makes it easy to forget you're on a ship carrying thousands of guests. Waking up each morning to panoramic ocean views from the loft level was one of my favorite parts of the experience. The extra space also meant we never felt cramped, even on sea days.
But the real value wasn't just the suite itself… it was the Sky Class experience that came with it.
The Perks That Made a Difference
As a Sky Class guest, the benefits started before we even stepped onboard. Priority check-in and boarding allowed us to bypass long lines and begin our vacation almost immediately. When embarkation day can often feel hectic, this perk alone reduced so much stress.
Throughout the cruise, our suite concierge became an invaluable resource. Whether it was assisting with dining reservations, answering questions, or helping with onboard arrangements, having a dedicated point of contact made everything feel seamless.
One of the biggest highlights was unlimited access to Coastal Kitchen, Royal Caribbean's exclusive restaurant for suite guests. The atmosphere was quieter, the service was exceptional, and the menu offered a more elevated dining experience than the Main Dining Room. We found ourselves enjoying breakfast there almost every morning and several dinners throughout the cruise. It quickly became one of our favorite venues onboard.
The Suite Lounge was another hidden gem. It provided a peaceful retreat from the busier public areas of the ship and was perfect for grabbing a snack, enjoying a cocktail before dinner, or simply relaxing in a quieter environment.
Other Sky Class benefits included:
Complimentary VOOM internet for each guest.
Priority departure at the end of the cruise.
Priority dining reservations.
Reserved seating sections at select entertainment venues.
Access to the Suite Sun Deck.
Concierge service throughout the sailing.
Luxury bath amenities, premium bedding, bathrobes, and an in-suite espresso machine.
Why the Upgrade Was Worth It
The Crown Loft Suite wasn't simply about having a larger room. It was about creating a more relaxed and elevated vacation experience.
The extra space allowed us to truly unwind. The exclusive venues helped us avoid crowds when we wanted a quieter atmosphere. The concierge service eliminated many of the small frustrations that can arise during a cruise. Most importantly, the suite experience gave us more time to enjoy our vacation and less time worrying about logistics.
Could we have enjoyed Symphony of the Seas in a standard balcony cabin? Absolutely.
Would the experience have been the same? Not even close.
For travelers celebrating a special occasion, sailing with family, or simply looking to add a touch of luxury to their cruise, the Crown Loft Suite delivers tremendous value. The combination of a stunning two-level suite and the exclusive Sky Class benefits creates an experience that feels significantly different from a traditional cruise vacation.
After experiencing Sky Class, it's easy to understand why so many guests say it's difficult to go back to a standard stateroom. The added comfort, convenience, and personalized service made our cruise aboard Symphony of the Seas one of our most memorable vacations yet.
